RIFOKI + SWEAR

14-04-2010 00:47 # 3 comments - add your comment

Prominent DJ and Dim Mak founder Steve Aoki and cohort Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo have
joined forces for a new musical endeavor called Rifoki. It’s their take on hardcore,
created as tribute to their musical background in hardcore music, long before they
became renowned producers.

Lead single “Zombie Attack” has proven to be a strong debut and has now received the
video treatment. Directed by K.J. Palkiewicz, this visual journey is just as exuberant
as the song itself.

Zombie Attack is the first single to be extracted from their upcoming five track
self-titled EP, and has been out via April 77 records in Europe. The EP is set to
release April 20th via Dim Mak Records

As Steve is a long time fan of SWEAR we obliged and sent the guys a few pairs of JIMMY
and VINNIE for the Press shots, some of which you can see here.

Look our for the new Rifoki crew hitting the UK sometime this year.

COMPETITION GIVE AWAY COMING SOON!

NEW SS10 COLLECTION HAS ARRIVED!

The new Spring/Summer 2010 collection launches in February! It will be the first collection marking our birthday and commemorating 10 years of the SWEAR brand.

To give you a little teaser, check out a selection of the shots below from the look book and the collection itself.

Finally, in celebration of our tenth birthday we are returning to our roots by re-launching the classic SWEAR logo – clean, cool and a nod to SWEAR’s ten years capturing the spirit of youth and the essence of the independent music and arts scene. Look out for the iconic asterisk logo on special projects in the future.

Go on and tell us what you think!

NUMBER22 AND LAF PRESENT THE XMAS ART SWAP

07-12-2009 17:06 # 6 comments - add your comment

Number 22 and LAF present The Christmas Art Swap

Gone are the days when a lazily placed Santa hat and some spray on snow are enough to draw customers into your shop at Christmas, so this year Number 22 Carnaby Street, home of Swear and peoples market, is letting the notoriously enigmatic Lorden Art Factory loose on their window display. The result? A continually changing, interactive exhibition and the chance for every single shopper to take home an original and completely free piece of art. The catch? They will all have to create a small piece of art to leave behind. Every time a shopper removes a canvas from the window they must replace it with one they have just produced. All art materials are provided and free to use, all art left behind will be displayed in the public show until it is swapped.

The Lorden Art Factory will produce the first 36 pieces for the window, and when they're gone they're gone, so make your way down to Number 22 Carnaby street to grab yourself an LAF original.
