SPRING SUMMER 2010 DEBUTS IN CARNABY THIS WEEKEND AND ONLINE NEXT WEEK!

WHATS THE DEAL? - SOME HIGHLIGHTS

CARNABY street has been SWEAR's home for almost ten years now, and we are proud to celebrate this with our most recent collection.
We looked to the past of the street, discovering the different subcultures that have occupied the area over the years, from the Mod's and Teddy boys, punks and rockers, to the party kids of the 70's and 80's, Carnaby has always been full of vibrant buzzing rebellious culture.

We tried to capture some of the styles and elements and re-work them with a splash of colour to bring them to a modern, fresh audience. Picture the next Johnny Rotten swaggering down Carnaby st., cigarette in one hand, super strength lager in the other and a pair of the new VINNIE shoes on his feet and you have the idea!

Over 20 years of wear and tear were captured in the moulds that now re-create the VINNIE, and this season those details are highlighted by electric blue and lemon yellow soles. Two new uppers are introduced with elastic gussets either side of the facings, in a low-top and a mid-height. A washed mid brown with "bone" coloured sole provides a more discerning choice for summer.

This season’s classic collection is all about accessibility, we wanted to take things we like from out new shapes in the collection and bring them to a wider audience. The existing SWEAR constructions have been re-worked with styles that aim to be forward yet wearable, delving deeper into the territory of formal/sports hybrids and fashion sneakers.
The Gene group sees the continuation of the popular Gene 3 style re-worked with unlined diamond-perforated suede side panels with accents of bright turquoise and red. New on the Gene this season are two new fashion sneakers in tonal material combinations of leather suede and patent trims, these are offered in off white, navy and black.

Also new to the Gene are a low-top and a mid-top moccasin hybrid with perforated saddle shoe detail and contrast brogue underlay. These come in Black leather, Brown leather with tan detail, Navy leather with tan details and off-white calf leather with black details.
Joe introduces two simple Derbies this season, alow cut and a Mid-height Chukka, these come in two-tone combinations of black suede and black leather, navy and tan leather, Powder blue waxed suede and navy leather and light grey suede and white leather.
All of the soles have the trademark Joe coloured heel insert. Our own pointed-toe signature DEAN has a new lowtop and high top, bringing yet another new twist to the classic SWEAR shape, and drawing on a similar colour story to the rest of the classic Tier colour palette.

IGGY sees the re-introduction of the popular summer styles sneakers in black white and grey, along with some tonal combo's drawing from the rest of the collection. New on the IGGY this season are two sneakers, one high and one low with twisted double sided strips of leather on the sidepanels that provide two main functions. One function is to provide your feet with some much needed ventilation in the summer heat, the other,  (and more important) function is.... to look F***ING AWESOME!
